My research into typography

What is a serif font?

http://www.bulletinbag.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/popular_serif_fonts.jpgA serif font is a font where there are little horizontal strokes that are on top and bottom of letters that are used to direct the reader in a certain direction.

 What is a Sans-serif font?

http://www.bulletinbag.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/popular_sans_serif_fonts.jpgA Sans-serif font is basically the same as a serif, but it has no strokes at the end of the letters.
Sans means "without" in English.

What is a Script font?

A script font is used for a more formal type of writing. It can be seen as fancy.

 What is a display font?

http://welovetypography.com/data/images/2009/06/3-toko-typeface-2.jpgThis font is more commonly known as typeface. It is a font that is used for a headline or logo and would not be used for the body of the text.
